Central Valley, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Martha Maurine Case Gukeisen, age 83, died September 8, 2006 in Richfield, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born March 30, 1923 in Annabella, Utah, a daughter of Marion Arnold and Louisa Barney Case. She married Herbert B. Gukeisen, July 6, 1946 in Seattle, Washington. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple January 13, 1955. Maurine attended the school of hard knocks and graduated with honors. She was a friend to everyone she met and provided many meals for many people, with lots of loaves of fresh baked homemade bread. She enjoyed traveling, playing the piano and singing. Maurine was a very active member of the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries, especially Relief Society. She was a temple worker in the Ogden Temple and served a mission with her husband, Herb, to Portland, Oregon. Maurine is survived by her beloved husband, Herb, of Central Valley; a son, Darwin H. and his wife, Valerie B. Gukeisen of South Jordan; 5 grandchildren: Laura V. Gukeisen and Arnold D. Gukeisen, both of Salt Lake City; Anne V. and Brent Ludlow of Ogden; Martha V. Gukeisen of Ann Arbor, Michigan; David D. Gukeisen of South Jordan; 3 great-grandchildren: Michael Craig Ludlow, Michelle Lee Ludlow and Matthew Case Ludlow, all of Ogden; brother and sisters: Allen J. and Evlyn Case, Barbara Sharp, Peggy and Doug White, all of Richfield; Bonnie and Duane Christensen of Spring City. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; four sisters and one brother: Luella Allred, Elva Shepherd Abney, Lena Case, Tora Jean Hansen and LaVern Case. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Central Valley LDS Ward Chapel in Annabella. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Annabella, Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Annabella Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
