Ephraim, Utah - Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, Max Abbie Jorgenson, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Ephraim on January 13, 2014. He was born July 1, 1920 in Ephraim, a son of Gilbert Raymond and Lillian Peterson Jorgenson. He graduated from Ephraim High School, Class of 1938 and attended Snow College. He joined the US Air Force and served his country from 1942 to 1945. He married the love of his life, Geneal Mary Christiansen, May 25, 1946 in Ephraim. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in October of 1990. Max was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Home Teacher. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He loved his family and his home. It meant everything to him. He looked forward to the holidays so he could be around all of his family. He loved fishing and the mountains. He was an excellent craftsman and builder. Max loved gardening and could grow anything. He always had to be busy, working with his hands. He loved to sing and had a beautiful tenor voice. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of Ephraim; his children: Sheila and Gerry Curtis of South Jordan; Diane Pehrson of Kearns; Randy M. and Heleen Jorgenson of Ephraim; Nancy and Brad Ledford of Gunnison; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters: James Jorgenson, Clifford Jorgenson, Joe Jorgenson, Ted Jorgenson, Eva Cundick and Grace Hawks. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Ephraim 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 450 North 200 West in Ephraim, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Post 9276 will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
