Max Hyrum Barney

Max H. Barney Fayette, Utah - Max Hyrum Barney, age 68, of Fayette, died Septembetr 3, 2004 at his home in Fayette after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born January 8, 1936 in Elsinore, Utah, a son of Leonard and Dora Howes Barney. He married Priscilla King, August 4, 1956 in Bicknell,Utah and they were later divorced. He married Gaye Buchanan March 18, 1959 in Ely, Nevada. Max worked for Kennecott Copper in Magna and he was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife of Fayette; his children: Barbara Ann and Ellis Nay, Gregory Max and Cindy Barney, all of Salina; Sandra Kay Ezell, Tena Marie and Kelly Brown, all of Magna; Helen Sue Anderton of Richfield; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Everette Barney of Yakima, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Madge Taylor, a brother, Ted Barney and a daughter, Gaylene Gray. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Fayette LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and again Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fayette Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
