Venice, Utah - Lee and April Knight and their family are mourning an unimaginable loss. Their youngest boy, Maximus Charles Knight, suffered a tragic accident Friday, and passed away early Saturday morning, October 28, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Max is survived by his loving parents, Lee Kelly and April Noyce Knight, and siblings, Audrey Knight, Owen Knight, Grace Knight and Guy Knight; as well as grandmothers, Kathleen Knight Pearmain, and Janice Andrus Noyce.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Richard Allen “Joe” Knight and Brian Henriksen Noyce; his aunt, Tiffany Grace Knight and uncle, Casey Joe Knight.
Max entered the world as a 10-pound 7-ounce happy baby boy on January 20, 2010, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the fifth child of Lee and April. He spent many of his early years being adored as the little baby brother by his older siblings. He delighted in outings with his family at a very early age, including even boating as a baby. He always had a strong bond with his mother and is the best cuddler in his family.
During these early years, they lived in Lehi, Utah. When he was 5 years old, his family moved from Lehi to Venice, Utah, and was welcomed by many new friends. He started at Ashman Elementary School, moved on to Pahvant Elementary School. As an eight-year-old, he shared each week with his primary class that he loved working with his family.
Max would happily do anything that was asked of him – a benefit of working with his family from a young age. He loved trying to catch lizards, paddle boarding and being with family and friends at Lake Powell.
He was thoughtful of others' feelings. He sought out his sisters for help when being chased by his brothers, or his dog, Daisy. He liked to cuddle up to his sisters and share about his day. While Owen was on his mission, Max looked forward to his calls and enjoyed hearing his mission stories. Max would show him his wrestling moves on video chats and couldn’t wait to show him in person.
This year he was a student at Red Hills Middle School and enjoyed hanging out with his friends. He was a great teammate, displaying outstanding sportsmanship, while wrestling for both Richfield and North Sevier. In wrestling, he excelled and achieved many awards.
He was a Deacon in the Venice Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and looked forward to activities with his quorum and other church members. He was also infamous for not being able to sit still, and sitting next to Mom before his siblings could.
Max loves being with his family, working with his family, wrestling, shooting NRL competition.22s, driving the tractor at the corn maze, riding 4-wheelers, being on the boat, being first into the water, and having fun pushing everyone else into the water, RC cars, and playing on his mom’s phone until he was surprised with his own phone on his 13th birthday. Max enjoyed being with his many cousins at extended family gatherings and was always the best helper for Grandma. He collected model tractors, football, baseball and Pokeman cards and rocks of all types and colors, mainly from family outings. He also was particular about his footwear and looking sharp.
The Knight family would like to thank their extended family, their many dear friends and neighbors, and the entire Venice and Richfield Community for the heartfelt donations and genuine kindness and help during this tragic time.
Our hearts are broken by his passing. He was so bright, so beautiful, and a most perfect example of kindness and service to his fellow friends and family. He was adventure and risk, he was joy and sweetness, he was tease and laughter, he was bravery and strength. He was love. #BEElikeMax
