Maxine N. Christensen

June 24, 1944 — February 7, 2020

Beaver Dam, Arizona/ Centerfield, Utah - On the evening of February 7, 2020, Maxine Nielson Christensen, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home in Beaver Dam, Arizona. She was born June 24, 1944 to Max and Ethel Daniels Nielson in Manti, Utah. She went to school in Manti and graduated from Manti High School, Class of 1962. Maxine married Rex Grant Christensen September 30, 1961 in Manti, Utah. Rex was in the Navy and Maxine, as well as their children Eric and Lynne, lived with him while he was stationed in California and Taiwan. After his service was complete they settled in Centerfield, Utah where Maxine raised her family and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren grow as well. Rex preceded her in death on January 14, 2018. After Rex’s death, Maxine moved to Beaver Dam to be closer to her son, Eric. Maxine loved music and spending time with family. We will always cherish our fond memories of family dinners at Grandma's house. We will always remember how she welcomed everyone with a warm smile and a happy heart. Maxine is survived by her children: Eric and Theo Christensen of Beaver Dam; Lynne Anne and Kevin Merendino of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brothers: Lee Nielson of Centerfield and Randy Nielson of Manti. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rex; her parents: and siblings: Deanna Peterson and Roger Nielson. . Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 12:00 Noon in the Centerfield 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 230 South Main Street, in Centerfield, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. or Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Centerfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
