Mel Hall

April 22, 1944 — April 27, 2005

Our kind, loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Melvin William “Mel” Hall, age 61, died April 27, 2005 from a brain tumor, which he has been fighting for 30 years. Mel was born April 22, 1944 in Burbank, California, a son of Arthur Wilson and Joyce Mary Johnson Hall. He grew up in Glasgow, MT And was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 8, 1957 in Glasgow. He married his eternal sweetheart, Linda Rae Brian, June 3, 1966 in the Manti LDS Temple. Mel enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time in Alaska, Hawaii and at Lake Powell. He really enjoyed bowling. He was so proud to bowl a 300 game in league. He loved to travel around the world with Linda and his children. He especially loved the opportunity to be able to fly on Delta. Mel worked in Phoenix, NYC, Idaho and worked for FHP, Parassilis and Cottonwood Hospital in SLC as a radiology technologist. He loved helping the elderly. He served in the Bishopric of the LDS Church in Phoenix and New Jersey. Mel lived in Chandler, AZ and St. George, UT after becoming disabled in 1999. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; children: Heather Ann (Uhl) Albert of Eagle, Idaho; Jennifer Kristeen Hall of Salt Lake City; Brian Dion Hall of Sandy; brother: Paul (Diane) Hall of Provo; sister, Marie Putscher of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents. We want to especially thank all the doctors, hospital staff at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center where he spent the last three months, and the wonderful people of CareSource Hospice for their help the past two weeks. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the Crescent Ridge 7th LDS Ward Chapel, 11000 South 1300 East in Sandy, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. and again Saturday morning one hour prior to the services. Graveside services and burial will be Saturday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. in the Loa Cemetery, Loa, Utah under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
