Melanie L. Layton

April 14, 1968 — November 13, 2014

Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt and friend, Melanie Lynn Daniels Layton, age 46, was tragically taken from us September 11, 2014 in Sevier County, Utah. Our hearts are troubled, but now we know she is at peace. She was found November 13, 2014. Melanie was born April 14, 1968 in Hayward, California, a daughter of Merle Lloyd and Ruth Ellen Coleman Daniels. She married John Layton, May 11, 1998 in Elsinore, Utah. They were later divorced. Melanie was a member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, dancing, reading and spending time with her family. Melanie is survived by her parents: Merle and Norma Daniels of Elsinore; Ellen and Bob Row of Richfield; a sister, Michelle Standley of Richfield; brother, Brian Daniels of Caldwell, Idaho; grandmother, Nadine Harter of Richfield; nieces and nephews: McKenzie Roberts, Kamree Standley, Brandon Daniels and Coby Jensen, all of Richfield; Breanna Daniels of Park City; and Chandee Asay of Monroe. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Richfield City Police Department, the Sevier County Sheriff's Department, and any others that may have been involved, for all their time and efforts spent searching for our dear Melanie. Thanks for not giving up and continuing in your search in helping us come to a final closure. We will never forget what you have done for our family. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 12 Noon in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will take place at a later date in the Elsinore Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
