Mildred Jensen

March 28, 1922 — July 22, 2007

Salina, Utah - A very special person passed away this day, July 22, 2007, our Mom, G’ma, Great G’ma, Aunt, Sister and friend, Mildred “Millie” Mciff Jensen. She was born March 28, 1922 in Panguitch, Utah, a daughter of Otto and Lillian Hatch McIff. She always said she married “The most handsomest man in the world”, Hubert J. Jensen on October 5, 1941 and exactly 1 year later was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She loved being an officers wife, traveling the U.S. and overseas. Her excellent artistic talents and organizational skills put her in charge of many military parties, County Art Shows, so many church activities . . . . and her most important, “Family Reunions”. An avid sports enthusiast, she played professional fast pitch soft ball as a pitcher for the “Shamrocks”, was a great golfer and loved a good fishing hole. She is survived by her two children: Lani and Scott Nielsen, and Larry Jensen, all of Salt Lake City; 1 grandson: Jereme and Jeanette Nielsen; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Crabb of American Fork. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert, a grandson, Jacob Nielsen; her sisters: Elaine and Florence; her brothers: Eldon, Rex and Lyle McIff. The family would like to extend a special thanks to “At Home Health” of Salina, for their care the past four years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road in Salt Lake City, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center in Salina, Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
