Miles L. Stoker

Richfield, Utah - Our precious loved one, Miles Levi stoker, age 88, passed peacefully away on January 25, 2007 in Richfield, Utah. He was born October 23, 1918 in Henderson, Utah, a son of John Willard and Mary Etta Woolley Stoker. He was the last to be born of their eleven children. Miles attended school in Junction, Utah. He served his country during World War II in the US Army. Miles married Virginia R. Brown March 12, 1938 in Richfield, Utah. They have been sweethearts for over seventy years. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 2, 1966. Miles loved being a member of the LDS Church. He retired from the US Gypsum Company after working for thirty-four years. He was honest and hard working. After retirement, he enjoyed farming, fishing, camping and hunting. His greatest love was for his immediate and extended families. Miles is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Virginia of Richfield; two children: Lyndon and Alta Stoker of Richfield; Sharon and Dennis Davis of Bountiful; 8 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Boyd Jolley and Kim Nielsen and 1 great-grandson, Jeremy Boyd Jolley; 4 brothers and 6 sisters: Gertrude Sargent, Flora Brown, Stella Gleave, Jack Stoker, Rhoda Stoker, Hughes Stoker, Leck Stoker, Wanda Stoker, Charles Stoker and Ivy Hyatt. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Grave side services and burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be Monday afternoon at 3:30 P.M. in the Koosharem Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
