Milly T. White

April 27, 1931 — February 15, 2012

Sevier, Utah - Mildred “Milly” Tanner White, age 80, of Sevier, passed away February 15, 2012 surrounded by family, at the home of her daughter in Murray, after a courageous fight against cancer. She was born April 27, 1931 a daughter of Orin and Lila Mae Olcott Tanner in Clear Creek Canyon. She graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1949. On June 5, 1951 Milly married the love of her life, Morgan Branch White, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died September 2, 2010. Milly was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a devoted wife, mother and proud grandmother. She was a hard worker who loved to serve; always doing something for family, church and friends. Milly served in many leadership positions such as Senior Class President, Primary President, Young Women’s Presidency and Relief Society Presidency. She also served in the Stake Young Women’s Program and as Sunday School Teacher and Cub Scout Leader. Milly was an artist, she loved gardening and was a great organizer. She was happy, positive, and not afraid to learn something new. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her five children: Tonya and Ken Riches of Murray; Morgan Charlie and Sue White of Sevier; Steven T. White of Spicewood, Texas; Kimo and Stephanie White of Salt Lake City; Keoni and Emily White of Layton; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers and sister: John and Naomi Tanner of Lehi; Ken Tanner of American Fork; Cleone and Jim Schow of Riverton; brothers and sisters-iin-law: J.R. Jolleyof Sevier; Edna Mae Tanner of Annabella and Richard Oliver of St. George; and many nieces and nephews. Milly was preceded in death by her beloved husband Morgan; brother LaVon Tanner and sisters Corrine Oliver and Val Jolley. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Joseph LDS Ward Chapel in Elsinore, Utah. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. or at the LDS Chapel in Elsinore Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Joseph Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
