Mitch Morrow

Fayette, Utah - James Mitchell "Mitch" Morrow, age 87, of Fayette, died August 9, 2016 at the home of his son in Aurora, after a brave battle with cancer. He was born October 24, 1928 in Erik, Oklahoma, a son of J.D. "Pete" and Carrie Rutledge Morrow. He moved to California where he met his wife, Evelyn. He married Evelyn Margarette Patterson, September 24, 1949 on a sand dune by Gordon's Well in southern California. They moved to San Diego to raise their family. After his retirement they moved to Utah to finish raising his family and to own a farm. It was here in Utah where he had loved to go hunting. Mitch loved fishing, taking pictures of the roaming wild horses, family monthly dinners, camping, telling stories and jokes, and hunting. He was always helping others. He loved moving the cattle up the mountain. He always had such cute sayings, some that we will never forget!!! He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed, as will the stories, jokes and that great smile of his. Mitch is survived by his children: Jeanne Ann Burns of Beaver Dam; Sandra Kay Nay of Cedar City; Patty Dale Bone of Central Valley; Kathryn Elaine Pendleton of Richfield; Richard Wayne Morrow and Cyndi Wolf, both of Aurora; Donna Jo Banks of Fairview; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; his dog, Peso; sisters and brothers: Rita Rathert of Valley Center, California; Imagene Morrow of El Cajon, California; June (Wanda) Sanders of Garland, Texas; Jesse Morrow of Johnson City, Tennessee; and Frankie Morrow of El Cajon, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Pete Morrow; his wife, Evelyn Morrow; a son-in-law: Michael Pendleton; sisters and brothers: twins at birth; Irene Morrow; Pauline Morrow; David Morrow; Davida Morrow; Dorotha Scrivner; baby girl twin of Dorotha; Baby Boy Morrow; Bobby Lee Morrow and baby girl twin of Bobby. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Fayette Town Hall, 90 South 100 East in Fayette, where friends may call for viewing Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fayette Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
