Torrey, Utah - Monty Charles Hunt, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Torrey, Utah on November 3, 2016. He was born August 10, 1953, in Richfield, Utah, to Charles Cleland and Madonna Peterson Hunt. He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1971. In 1974 Monty married Jolynn Taylor in Fremont, Utah, together they had two children and later divorced, in 1984 he married Glennis Williams in Salt Lake City where he helped raise her 5 children along with his own, they later divorced, he then met and committed the remainder of his life to Beva Nielsen. Monty was raised in Torrey and worked with his family to operate the Hunt Sawmill and Lumber Co., Hunt Apple Orchard, and a ranch in Caineville, Utah. As an adult, Monty worked in the uranium mines in southeastern Utah while living in Torrey and Hanksville; Monty then moved to Salt Lake City where he worked as a crusher operator and a short haul truck driver for the next 30 years until he moved back to Torrey to help care for his aging mother. He enjoyed working on small and large engines and tinkering to get the most life out of any appliance or electronic item. He also loved helping others during their times of need by sharing his home with many friends and family who needed a place to stay or to get back on their feet. Monty is survived by his children, Monica Fell of Lehi; Corey (Stacy) Hunt of South Jordan; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Stanley (Sandra) Hunt, Loa; Priscilla (Carl) Reichert, Mesa, AZ; Deanna (Jerry) LeFevre, Panguitch; Donita (Jeff) Pace, Torrey, and Brenda (Shannon) Davis, Ivins. Monty was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, C. Gary Hunt. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey LDS ward chapel where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Interment will be in the Torrey Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. Online guest book
