Morgan B. White

July 25, 1924 — September 2, 2010

Sevier, Utah - Morgan Branch White, "Pogo Poge", age 86, of Sevier, passed away September 2, 2010 of heart complications in Provo, Utah. He was born July 25, 1924 in Monroe, Utah, a son of Charles Alfred and Olive Branch White. He attended SUSC and graduated from Utah State University. He spent 59 wonderful years with his wife, Mildred Tanner, whom he married on June 5, 1951, in the Logan Temple. Morgan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving a mission in Sweden and attending the temple weekly. Morgan gave extensively to the community by donating his time to the March of Dimes Marathon, Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Boy Scouts of America, who honored him with the Silver Beaver Award. He had a unique ability to make all he came in contact with feel they were important and of great worth. His kindness, gentleness and deep love touched teens as a #1 disc jockey in Denver and children as Pogo Poge on the Checkers and Pogo TV Show in Hawaii. Morgan was internationally known for his work on TV, stage, radio and film. He retired to the family farm in Sevier, Utah. He touched thousands of lives and will be greatly missed. Morgan is survived by his dear wife, Mildred, of Sevier; five children: Tonya (Ken) Riches of Murray; Morgan (Sue) White of Sevier; Steven T. White of Spicewood, Texas; Kimo (Stephanie) White of Salt Lake City; and Keoni (Emily) White of Layton; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grand children; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister Beth Nordgren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Joseph LDS Chapel in Elsinore. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. or at the ward chapel in Elsinore, Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Monroe American Legion Post #37 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Joseph Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
