Muriel Carpenter

Richfield, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Muriel Faith Guy Tolboe Carpenter, age 82, died March 9, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Austin, Utah. She was born January 29, 1928 in Inglewood, California, a daughter of Lewis Eugene and Nancy Roberta Packer Guy. She graduated from Inglewood High School, Class of 1946. She attended some college, majoring in Archeology. Muriel married Keith Leroy Tolboe, February 14, 1947 in California. They raised three daughters together and they were divorced after thirty-four years of marriage in 1981. She married Fred Velsor Carpenter, August 21, 1982 in Devils Punchbowl, California. He died October 3, 1995. Muriel enjoyed sewing, needlework, ceramics, archeology, spending time with her family, reading, fishing and being in the outdoors. She made two trips to Peru on archeology digs. She will be missed and is survived by her daughter, Rachael E. Carden of Monroe, Utah; step-children: Maureen Tate of New Zealand and Glen Carpenter of Idaho; 15 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Louis Guy of California; Robert Guy of Arizona; Eleanor Gaines of New Mexico and Yvonne Thompson of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred V. Carpenter; and two daughters: Anita D. Munson and Linda Marie Hall. At her request, her remains have been cremated and her daughter, Rachael will receive the cremains. Funeral Directors: Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
