Naoma P. Rasmussen

December 18, 1927 — March 2, 2008

Salina, Utah - Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Naoma Vee Peterson Rasmussen, age 80, of Salina, died March 2, 2008 in Richfield. She was born December 18, 1927 in Salina, Utah, a daughter of Lars Peter and Lydia Elizabeth Fenn Peterson. She married Verl D. Rasmussen, August 19, 1943 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple January 5, 1980. He died April 16, 1987. Naoma was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in all the auxiliaries. She was a member of the Salina Fireman’s Auxiliary and she loved fishing, gardening and quilting. Naoma is survived by her children: Connie Lee and Harv Hansen of Gunnison; Dan L. and Gaylene Rasmussen of Aurora; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother: Wallace and Janeil Peterson of South Jordan. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven V. Rasmussen; 3 grandchildren: Steven Dan Rasmussen, Shauna Kay Rasmussen and Kimberley Jo Rasmussen, four brothers and three sisters: Blair Peterson, Howard Peterson, Miles Peterson, Wayland Peterson, Vivian Williams, Verda Beach and twin sister, Norma Lee Robinson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 12 Noon in the Salina 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 85 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
