May 31, 1919 — November 22, 2011

Richfield - Our loving Mother, Grandmother, sister and Aunt, Naomi Berniece Lott Ross Taylor, 92, died Nov. 22, 2011, in Richfield, surrounded by her family. She was born May 31, 1919 in Joseph, a daughter of John Taylor and Bertha Jane Wells Lott. Mom graduated from Monroe High School and fell in love with our father Elmo Grant Ross. They were married May 1, 1937 in Beaver, UT. He preceded her in death July 13, 1966. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Mom then married another fine man, Arvel J. Taylor, July 20, 1982 in Provo. Arvel died Jan. 2, 2003. Mom was a hard worker and always worked outside the home as well as in. She worked at Parson’s Bakery, Little Wonder Café, Barbazon Sewing Plant, Christensen’s Dept. Store, and after Grant passed away she put herself though business college at age 48 and went to work and retired from Garkane Power. Mom loved helping others and was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving throughout her life in many callings, her favorite being a Sunday School teacher, which she did for many years. She also enjoyed camping and hunting. Our family has so many wonderful memories of these trips together. Mom was a great cook, no one could match those homemade rolls on Thanksgiving Day. Every Christmas she would make and handout dozens of candy plates to family and friends. She was especially known for her huge homemade cherry chocolates and cinnamon rolls. Mom loved to garden and every year we would reap the benefits of her homemade jellies, pickles, frozen corn, tomatoes and squash. Mom loved to sew and crochet, she made us countless quilts, crochet hangers and hot pads. She is survived by her children: Grant Duane and Sandi Ross, Sheral Dean Ross (Deceased), Craig Lott (Deceased) and Vickie Ross, Mark Lester and Diann Ross, all of Richfield; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren (1 deceased); 18 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law: Sylvan Staples of Central Valley. She is preceded in death by her brothers; John Deloyd (Margie) Lott; Peter Lamon (Joan) Lott; and sisters; Mary (Walter) Ogden; Wanda (John) Mathis; Florence Staples; Beverly Dean (Thomas) Butkovich and Shirley Lanita (Mahlon) Barney. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Beehive Home of Richfield who so lovingly cared for Mom up to the time of her death. Also, a special thanks to Helen and Doreen from the Central Utah Hospice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services.
