Nell Searle

March 3, 1924 — April 13, 2006

Monroe, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Nell Jensen Searle, age 82, died April 13, 2006 at her home in Monroe of complications from a stroke. She was born March 3, 1924 in Redmond, Utah, a daughter of Christian and Phoebe Verona Snow Jensen. Nell attended schools in North Sevier and graduated in 1943. She attended Utah State University. She served her country during World War II as a Medical Technician in the United States Army. Nell married Aubrey Earl Lee, June 24, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas. They were later divorced. She married Thomas Allen Searle, December 7, 1978 in Ely, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple February 23, 1995. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Young Women’s President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher and instructor in the Relief Society. She enjoyed making quilts for homeless shelters; volunteering at the voting polls, and she was a member of the VFW and the DUP. She loved fishing, sewing, gardening, dancing, crocheting, indoor plants, her children and grandchildren. Nell is survived by her husband, Tom, of Monroe; children: Margarett and Joe Hamilton of Dallas, Texas; Helen and Bill Gilbert of Battle Mountain, Nevada; Scott and Yvonne Lee of Salt Lake City; Rebecca Ann Fillis of Auburn, Washington; Nancy and Bob Winfield, Barbara and Jason Anderson, all of Springville; Alice and Dan Wagner of Sumner, Washington; 33 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kay and Evelyn Jensen of North Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law: Dale C. Fillis; a brother, Fred Jensen and two sisters, LaVora Anderson and Dixie Jensen. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Monroe 4th LDS Ward Chapel, located at 49 East 200 North in Monroe. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Monroe, Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Grave side services and burial with military honors accorded by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92 will be in the Fremont Cemetery, Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 P.M. under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
