Elsinore, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Neta Barney Davidson, age 87, died August 30, 2008 at her home in Elsinore. She was born August 1, 1921 in Brooklyn, Sevier County, Utah, a daughter of Lushon and Evelyn Levie Barney. Neta graduated from South Sevier High School, Class of 1939. She married Harold Dean Davidson, September 3, 1939 in Junction, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple April 20, 1954. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving many years in the Primary, Young Women’s Program, as a Visiting Teacher, Ward Librarian, Extraction Program Worker and she served a mission to the Ohio Akron Mission from 1985 to 1986 with her husband, Dean. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Camp Belnap; a member of the PTA; Literary Club, served Voter Registrar; Election Judge; Assisted with the History of Elsinore; Member of the Committee for Danish Days Celebration; and was Grand Marshall with Dean, for the 2008 Celebration. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and family get-togethers. Neta is survived by her husband, Dean, of Elsinore; children: Shirley and Douglas Conder of South Jordan; Sandra Walker of Las Vegas, Nevada; Shanna and Ronald Nielson of West Valley City; Dana Jean and Glen Bond of Taylorsville; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; brother: Ben and Marla Barney of Richfield; sister-in-law: Betha C. Barney Halliday of Venice. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters: Lorna Hansen; Grant Barney; Nina Carrigan; Eleanor Winn; Arnold Barney; Harlin Barney; Myrtle King and Joseph Levi Barney; a son-in-law: Jay Dee Walker and 1 great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 12 Noon in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Elsinore Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
