Salina, Utah - An elect lady left this mortal existence peacefully surrounded by her family on August 5, 2011. Norma Scovil Robins was born August 11, 1925 in Aurora, Utah, a daughter of Jesse Richard and Effie Lewis Scovil. She loved being an “Aurora girl” and always thought of it as home. Norma graduated from North Sevier High School in 1943. During World War II, she worked at the U.S. Naval Drydocks in Long Beach, California. After the war, she married Jack M. Robins on December 12, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were divorced in 1964. Norma was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in many callings throughout her life, including Young Women President, Primary Teacher, Relief Society Counselor and Family History Worker. She retired in 1990 after 19 years as District Court Clerk in the Sevier County Clerk’s Office. Afterwards she served in the Washington D.C. South LDS Mission in the Mekong Branch and as an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple. Norma loved her grandchildren and supported them in all their activities. She will be remembered as an avid North Sevier booster. She enjoyed quilting, taking care of her yard and growing a big vegetable garden and sharing it’s bounty with her neighbors and friends. Norma is survived by her children: Ward J. and Norma Robins of Lake Forest, CA; Brent and Lisa Robins, Lynn and Lorri Robins, Paul and Inalee Jensen, all of Salina; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ilean Clifton of St. George and a brother, Ivan G. Scovil of Springville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Lou; a daughter-in-law: Margaret Gardner Robins; a grandson, Dustin W. Robins and two brothers: Vern L. Scovil and Derral J. Scovil. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 12 Noon in the Salina 2nd, and 3rd Ward Chapel, 87 South 100 East in Salina. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Salina, 150 Eat Main Street, Monday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. or Tuesday morning form 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Sevier Valley Dialysis Center, 1100 North main Street in Richfield, Utah 84701 or the North Sevier Recreation Department, 383 West 400 North in Salina, Utah 84654.
