Nyla H. Dart Richfield, Utah - Nyla Elaine Hopper Dart, age 45, passed away due to cancer, July 3, 2003, in Richfield, surrounded by her husband and son. Nyla has fought a courageous battle and is now in comfort and peace. In many ways she won the war on cancer, she no longer struggles to make it through another day and can enjoy a life now of running and playing with her family and friends that welcomed her to the other side. Nyla was born March 9, 1958 in Pico Rivera, California, a daughter of Delbert Riley and Pauline Rose Field Hopper. She married Brady Lee Dart, April 19, 1980 in the Manti LDS Temple. Nyla was loved by all that knew her, and loved everyone she knew. She worked as the Testing Center Coordinator at Snow College Richfield, a job that she was well suited, as she had the ability to put anybody, even stressed out students, at ease. She was also involved with the Utah Chapter of Romance Writers of America. She had held the office of Secretary/Treasurer until being released due to her illness. She was an avid reader and loved to write books. She said many times that there was a book in her head that she had to put on paper, and that the characters in her books would not leave her alone until she did so. God gave Nyla the strength to attend her daughter’s wedding in the Logan LDS Temple and to see her son graduate from Richfield High School. She was able to make it to several of her son’s basketball games and enjoyed watching her children grow and learn. She loved her husband of 23 years and was loved by her husband, whom will miss her very dearly. Nyla was a learner, she wanted to learn about everything. Learning was a passion that allowed her the diligence and devotions to attend school well into her 3rd decade of life. She showed remarkable perseverance and had a master’s degree to show for her dedication. Nyla is survived by her husband of Richfield, children: Kira and Quentin Alldredge of Price; Cameron Dart of Richfield; mother, Pauline Hopper and her sister, Lanette Hopper, both of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Hopper. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
