Pat Mcdonald

Richfield, Utah – Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Patricia Lee McDonald, age 82, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024 in Centerfield, Utah. She was born May 5, 1941, in Cortez, Colorado, a daughter of Charles and Nina Odom Hampton.

She graduated from Montezuma Cortez High School, Class of 1959 and then attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.

Pat married Charles Reed in 1962 in Cortez, Colorado. They were later divorced. She married Ray McDonald in 1998 in Durango, Colorado and he passed away in 2011.

While living in Colorado, she served as the main 4H Leader for the Mildred 4H Club. She especially loved teaching sewing and helping the kids to show their sheep. She helped to sew many an outfit for the square dancer’s club.

She worked as an accountant for the Cortez Memorial Hospital in Cortez, Colorado.

She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved living in and associating with the members of the Richfield 7th Ward since 2011.

She was a master seamstress and sewed clothes for her children and grandchildren. Her work was beautiful! She also enjoyed horseback riding, playing cards and watching her son, Faron, at his team ropings.

Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she always wanted to know about them individually and supported them in all their endeavors. She was an avid Colorado Rockies and Green Bay Packers Fan!!!

Pat is survived by her children: Faron and Kim Reed of Richfield; Marjory Holland of Salt Lake City; her grandchildren: Megan Thomas of Lubbock, Texas; Courtney Aulston of Oceanside, California; Sedona Reed of Salt Lake City; Payson Reed of St. George, Utah; Hayden Reed and Canyon Reed, both of Richfield.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a baby girl that died at birth; and two brothers: Bob Hampton and Oscar Stuckman.

The family is sincerely grateful and wishes to thank all those that have helped our Mom in her final days.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.
