Pat Ryan

October 10, 1933 — December 19, 2007

Elsinore, Utah - On Wednesday, December 19, 2007, our world lost a good man, Patrick Hukell Ryan. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and life long friend to many people. His quick wit and charm will be sorely missed by those whose lives he touched. Pat was born October 10, 1933 in Montebello, California, a son of Michal S. And Nora Herlihy Ryan, from New Zealand. He married and divorced Joanne and Marylou before marrying Lorna Jean Cox, the love of his life, on October 12, 1963. They enjoyed more than 28 years together before losing her to cancer in 1992. Pat is survived by a brother, John Joseph Ryan of Yorba Linda, CA; a sister, Margaret Sonney of Chatsworth, CA. He was father to many children: Deborah Bearfield of El Cajon, CA; Corrine Everett of Ontario, CA; Kathy Bradshaw of Seattle, WA; Eddie Provensal of Portland, OR. He was a beloved Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He had 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Litarote, his beloved wife, Lorna and his grandson, Weston Robert Harris. Pat enlisted in the Army at age 14 and later served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Pat was an active member in his community. As an active member of the American Legion as well as many “hot rod” and “classic car” clubs, Pat enjoyed sharing his experience, strength and hope with others. He was an honored member of the BPO Elks #2420 and served as LEADING KNIGHT in 1995-1996. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Saturday morning from9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Elsinore American Legion Post #75 and the Richfield Unit of the Utah National Guard will be in the Elsinore Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
