Patricia Mott

March 17, 1936 — July 13, 2014

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother Patricia Mott passed away on July 13, 2014 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Fannie Patricia Stewart Mott was born on a small farm next to the Fremont River, about two miles from Teasdale Utah. It was St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1936. Pat was the daughter of William Urban Stewart and Golda Larsen Stewart. The family moved from Teasdale to Salina and then on to Ephraim Utah, where she attended Grade School and High School. At that time the Junior and Senior years were taught at Snow College. Upon graduation, she was selected as the class valedictorian. During High School she also worked three jobs, clerk for Frost Drug, telephone office operator and as a typist for the Forest Service. Her mother and dad ran the Ephraim Hotel. They rented rooms to the college students and that is where she met her husband Glade Mott, a student of Snow College. They were married on April 30th 1956 in Nephi, Utah. After their marriage they lived in Salt Lake City until Glade joined the US Air Force in 1957. They were sent to Scott Air Force Base in Illinois for one year of special schooling. They were then transferred to Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho for the next three years. After their time in the military service they moved back to Utah. They have spent the last 42 years in Hooper Utah. Pat worked for the IRS for over 20 years where she had many friends. After retiring, these friends met every month for lunch and to talk about their kids and families. Pat's passions in life were her family, her friends, her books, a pen and a notebook, and time spent in their summer home in Torrey. Pat is survived by her husband Glade of Hooper; her son Todd and wife Colleen of Nibley; her Sister Bonnie Brown of Viola, Arkansas; 5 granddaughters; 6 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pat lost her mother and father; her brother Roger; her sister Cleta and Cleta's husband Harold Anderson; her brother-in-law Robert Brown; two nephews, and many uncles and aunts. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 18, in the Wildwood LDS Ward Chapel at 4675 West 5500 South in Hooper, Utah. Friends may call for viewing at the ward chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. in the Ephraim City Cemetery, 703 North Main in Ephraim, Utah.
