Peggy Ellett

Bicknell, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Mary Anita "Peggy" Jones Ellett, age 82, died August 2, 2015 in Loa, Utah. She was born October 8, 1932 in Bicknell, Utah, a daughter of Stephen Otis and Vera Baker Jones. She graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1950. She married her sweetheart, Lane R. Ellett, July 23, 1950 in Bicknell. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple July 2, 1953. Lane preceded her in death just seven weeks ago on June 11, 2015. Peggy was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Relief Society Teacher, Ward Librarian, Den Mother, Primary Teacher and Visiting Teacher. She was a member of the DUP Camp Thurber. Peggy enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and reading. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed reading cookbooks. She is survived by her loving children: Trudy and Lon Christensen of South Jordan; Stephen Lane and Mary Ellett, of Bicknell; Jan Barry and Mary Ellett, of Loa; Michael Jones and Marisol Ellett of Plano, Texas; Scott Alonzo and Heather Ellett of Salina; 27 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Romola Jones of Bicknell. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Ted B. Jones. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Thurber LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Bicknell Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
