Pete Swan

Pete Swan Fayette, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Robert “Pete” Joel Swan, age 54, died September 6, 2004 in Gunnison, Utah. He was born June 8, 1950 in Moab, Utah, a son of Joel Dana and Annie Faye Langston Swan. Pete graduated from Grand Canyon High School, Class of 1969. He married Mary Lynne Beckstead, January 24, 1976 in Ely, Nevada. Pete was a fine Christian. He worked for Utah Power and Light for 33 years as a Linesman and Crew Supervisor. He coached Soccer for three years in Hinckley, Utah. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and playing with his grandchildren. The family encourages others to participate in the Organ Donation Program. Because of Pete’s belief in that program, in death, he was an organ donor, in hopes that someone else might live. Pete is survived by his wife of Fayette; his children: Jeramiah Joel and Heidi Swan, Tara Lynne and Chris Merryweather; all of Payson; Rachel and Brett Christiansen of Ogden; 11 grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Ruth and Ron Nayor of Salt Lake City; Helen and Sunny Felkin, Carroll L. Clark, all of Moab; Sid Clark of Oregon and Howard Clark of Colorado. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Fayette LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and again Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fayette Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
