Phillip Nielson

Richfield, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Phillip Ray Nielson, 86, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in Richfield, Utah. He was born July 9, 1923, in Elsinore, Utah, a son of Walter Orian and Erma Eldora Salisbury Nielson. Phillip married Doris Renee Shaw August 20, 1947, in Venice, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS temple June 25, 1960. He was member of the LDS Church. Phillip worked for Richfield City for some 40 years as the Water Superintendent. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at their cabin at Acord Lake. Phillip is survived by his wife, Renee, of Richfield; two children, David J. and Trudie Nielson, Pamela and Roger Orton, all Richfield; four grandchildren: Roger Kevin and Cassidy Orton; Cori Lynn and David Roberts; Matthew Mayo and Samantha Nielson; Kinsey Lee and Jeff Hansen; six great-grandchildren: Tavis Roberts, Kadison Roberts, Kambree Roberts, Kapreece Hansen, Harleigh Hansen and Hazel Orton; two brothers: Richard A. “Dick” Nielson of Loa and Hal A. Nielson of Victorville, California. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert W. “Bob” Nielson and William Boyd Nielson. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Thursday evening from 7 to 8 P.M. or Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
