Rosa Philomene Demeter, age 87, died October 10, 2011 in Centerfield, Utah. She was born November 6, 1923 in Tulare, California, a daughter of William John and Elisabeth Ann Moon Reeder Payette. She attended schools in Salinas, California and graduated from Salinas High School. Philomene married Duane Jack Stanton, June 15, 1940 in Salinas. They were later divorced. She then married Laszlo Demeter December 5, 1958 and they were later divorced. Philomene joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, May 5, 1956. She served faithfully in numerous church callings. Dearest to her heart was her service in the Lord’s Temples and fulfilling several missions at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Philomene was a bookkeeper and kept books for several different companies. She was happiest when she was helping her family and friends. She enjoyed being in the service of others. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening. Philomene is survived by her children: Morris Dwight Stanton of Santa Cruz, California; Glenna Rae and Heber Neff of Loa, Utah; Judith Ladine and Daniel Neff of Loma, Colorado; 18 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sisters and one brother: Marguerite Mason, Dottie Geer and Roger Payette. Grave side services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Joseph Cemetery, Joseph, Utah, under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
