TEASDALE, UTAH - Phyllis Wyllie Coombs, age 84, passed away March 12, 2010 at her home in Teasdale, the community she enjoyed living in for 67 years. Phyllis was born January 12, 1926 in Green River, Utah, to devoted parents, Stuart Arnot and Martha Elizabeth Weber Wyllie. She had a happy and secure childhood in Hanksville, Utah, where she attended school through the eighth grade. She went to Green River High School one year. The family moved to Bicknell, Utah where she graduated from Wayne High School with the class of 1943. Phyllis married Guy Lewis Coombs on August 11, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of five children: Martha Mae and Laird Ralston of Bullhead City, Arizona; George Coombs, Donald and Sharon Coombs, all of Teasdale; Guy L. Coombs Jr. and Wayne Coombs passed away as infants. Phyllis and Guy have nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her family is her legacy and the most important part of her life. Phyllis had a life full of love, service to others, humor, hard work and dedication to family, church, community and friends. She was a skilled seamstress and completed many expertly crafted quilts. She was a professional pianist and shared her talents by teaching piano, playing for church, funerals, school programs and community activities. Phyllis and Guy owned Coombs Sheep Ranch for many years and worked together to make it a success. Phyllis is also survived by her sister-in-law: Barbara and Guy Pace of Teasdale. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister: Stanley and Nadene Wyllie. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 P.M. or Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teasdale Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
