Loa, Utah - Ruthaleen “Polly” Tanner Knezek Callaway, age 74, of Odessa, Texas was called back to her heavenly father the morning of November 15, 2014 in Odessa. Polly was born December 19, 1939 in Loa, Utah a daughter of Ruthaford Orden and Nina Painter Tanner. Polly was a retired grandma. Polly was a “do unto others” kind of woman. She accepted everyone into her home and loving arms. Polly loved the Lord. She was an early morning seminary teacher for The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints for 20 years. She enjoyed genealogy work, tirelessly finding lost relatives. She was very independent, especially for her era, and was able to take three children on her own anywhere that would broaden their horizons. Polly had the grandmother quality that everyone loved. Loving people while helping them realize their potential was her life. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her sons: Darren and Jennifer Knezek of Provo, UT and Bobby Knezek of Odessa; daughters: Nancy Knezek of Odessa and Susan Elwell Knezek of Houston; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Dylan and Robin. Those three were the reason she went to bed late and woke up early… with plenty of energy to keep up every day. Polly is preceded in death by her father, Ruthaford Tanner; her mother, Nina Tanner Chappell; a daughter: Ginger Johnson; brothers: Ferren Dean Tanner, Norman Tanner; and sister: Gwen Stephenson. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Loa Cemetery, Loa, Utah.
