Quentin Ottley

June 9, 1920 — April 10, 2009

Aurora, Utah - Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Ernest Quentin Ottley, age 88, passed away April 10, 2009 in Provo, Utah. He was born June 9, 1920 in Aurora, a son of Herbert John and Velma Curtis Ottley. He served in the 127th Signal Corps of the US Army during WWII. He married Thora Dean Christensen, April 18, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, May 12, 1961. Quentin worked at USG in Sigurd as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer. He served in many Church assignments, but very much enjoyed working the Manti LDS Temple with is bride. He loved being in the great outdoors with his family. The family expresses special thanks to the nurses and physicians at the Gunnison Valley Hospital, Mountain View Hospital and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, for their kind help and considerations with our husband and father. Quentin is survived by his loving wife, Thora, of Aurora; his children: Sondra and Gordon Bosh of Murray; Brad and Gail Ottley of West Valley City; Corinne and Marvin Jackson of Dinosaur, Colorado; Dean and Leilani Ottley of West Jordan; Lecia Anderson and friend, Belinda Bellingham of Ogden; Ellen and Kendaall Walden of Bountiful; Yvonne and Jim Leishman of Morgan; Jeanie and Cary Smith of Harrisville; 56 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Boren and Thail Dastrup and a grandson, Jeremy Ottley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Aurora 2nd LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the ward chapel in Aurora, Tuesday morning from 9:00 to10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
