Ralph N. Morley

St. George, Utah - Ralph Nielsen Morley, age 80, passed away September 26, 2005 in Washington, Utah, from complications of Alzheimer’s. He was born December 11, 1924 in Axtell, Utah, a son of George Franklin and Caroline Magdelene Nielsen Morley. He married Phyllis Draper February 25, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple. Ralph was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army in the Philippines and Japan, going in just after they dropped the Atomic Bomb. After retiring from Hill Air Force Base, he left Kaysville to retire in St. George, Utah. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in several capacities through the years, and served as a Stake Missionary. He sang in the choir most of his married life. He will be greatly missed by his survivors: his wife, Phyllis of St. George; his five children: Bruce and Veda Morley, Marilyn and Larry Eubanks, Dennis and Barbara Morley, Paul and Carol Morley, Jon Morley, all of Kaysville, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister: Maurine and Frank Brinkerhoff of Bicknell. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 half brothers and 4 half sisters: Thelma Morley, Merril George Morley, Neva and Pharo Arnoldsen, Lura and Evan A. Beck, Franklin Lloy and Verlie Lynn Morley, Newell Andrew and Bessie Morley, Wilma and clive Russel DeSpain, John Hilton and Maxine LaReece Madsen. The family wouldlike to offer sincere gratitude to the Comfort Cottage in Washington, Utah and Hospice Alliance for their loving care. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. George 19th LDS Ward Chapel, located at 550 East 700 South in St. George, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Grave side services and burial will be Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 P.M. in the Redmond Cemetery in Redmond, Utah, with military honors accorded by the Redmond American Legion Post and under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 324 North 1680 East, St. George, Utah 84790.
