Ramona Dare Morris, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Loa, Utah. Mona was born May 28, 1935 in Clyde, North Carolina, a daughter of Hilliard Boonie and Reecie Louise Pethel Snyder. She graduated from Canton High School in North Carolina in 1953. She married Donald Dean Morris October 13, 1956 in Asheville, North Carolina. He died December 10, 1987. She was a member of the First Church of Christian Science in DeLand, Florida, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. Mona enjoyed playing basketball in her younger years. As an adult she enjoyed boating and water skiing on Lake Talmadge, where she lived and raised her family in DeLand, Florida. She especially enjoyed teaching the neighborhood kids how to water ski. She also enjoyed playing tennis. Mona was always a very spiritual person and especially loved singing, and seeing and bringing out the best in others. She exemplified the words of one of her favorite songs, "let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." Thank you for shining your light into this world. Your love will echo through our hearts and lives forever. She will be deeply missed by all her family that loved her dearly. Ramona is survived by her children: Gary and Jodie Morris of DeLand, Florida; Joy Morris and Bernie Wuestefeld of Torrey, Utah; Noel and Randy Patrick of Youngsville, Louisiana; two grandsons: Shaun Bennett Morris of DeLeon Springs, Florida and Tyler Patrick of Mandeville, Louisiana; brothers and sisters: Reece Vance and Betty Snyder of Hendersonville, North Carolina; Ken and Myrdice Snyder and Sharon and Urpo Karppinen, all of Clyde, North Carolina; and Kay and David Goforth of Asheville, North Carolina.
