Ranae Albrecht

Hanksville, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Ranae Albrecht, age 72, of Hanksville, died January 28, 2005 in Richfield, Utah of complications from bone cancer. She was born May 24, 1932 in Loa, Utah, a daughter of Leland and Dora Taylor Hunt. After the death of her mother, she was taken and raised by Heber J. and Eris Redford Rees in Loa. She graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1950. She married Owen LaNaie Albrecht, October 24, 1950 in Loa, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 16, 1957. Ranae was an active member of the LDS Church, where she worked in all the church organizations. She served a Temple Mission to the Manti Temple for 7 years. Ranae was a school lunch cook for Wayne School District for 27 years. She was a Red Cross volunteer, and helped with Pennies by the Inch. She was always helping elderly people. She loved to cook and was always cooking something for somebody. She enjoyed crocheting, raising rose gardens and flower gardens of any kind and also vegetable gardens. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Ranae is survived by her husband of Hanksville; children: Janet and Dan Barp of Spanish Fork; Terry Albrecht of Hanksville; Danny Albrecht of Richfield; Dona and Ronnie Rees of Loa; Kelly and Laura Albrecht of Wapanucka, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her mother, Eris Redford Rees Paskett of Richfield; brother and sisters: Merlin and Nadine Taylor of Loa; Ramola and Ted Jones of Bicknell; Grace Blackburn of St. George. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie Albrecht; a grandson, Jared Albrecht; a sister, Bonnie and Alfred Newby; a brother, Don Blackburn; her father, Heber Rees; her mother, Dora Taylor and her parents-in-law, Vern and Nola Ernstsen. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 12 Noon in the Hanksville LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the ward chapel in Hanksville Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. in the Loa Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
