Richfield, Utah – Randy Lane Ogden, age 75, passed away February 8, 2025, in Provo, Utah. He was born January 14, 1950, in Richfield, Utah, a son of Heber J and Sylvia Merle Shaw Ogden. He grew up in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1968. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Winget March 1, 1969, in Monroe, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple December 8, 1979. To this union were born two daughters, Rainey Lyn and Cassie.

Lane dedicated his life to service, leadership, and family. He built a distinguished career that spanned multiple fields, including serving as a manager at Dix-O-Gas, a Utah Highway Patrol Trooper, and later as a Safety Supervisor at Mason Trucking. His natural leadership skills and ability to connect with people made him highly respected by colleagues and the community alike.

He proudly served in the National Guard Richfield Division for 7 years. His commitment to duty extended beyond his professional life into his faith and community service.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was sealed to his family in the Manti Temple. Throughout his life he served in various church callings, including Scout Leader, Executive Secretary, Teacher in the Elder’s Quorum, Ward Missionary Leader and Manti Temple ordinance worker for 10 years.

Known for his quick wit and love of practical jokes, Lane had an infectious sense of humor that endeared him to those around him. He had a remarkable way with people—never afraid to speak his mind but always leaving others feeling valued and appreciated. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Lane is survived by beloved wife, Carolyn Ogden; daughter Cassie Sorenson and her husband Justin; grandchildren: Kenady Lane Sorenson (and fiancé Kaden Gunter), Emry J Sorenson who is currently serving an LDS mission in the Indianapolis, IN mission, Treven Justin Sorenson, and Tyten Chad Sorenson; and sister Kathy Pekuri.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Rainey Lyn Ogden; parents, Merle and Heber J Ogden; siblings: Diane Allen and Steven J Ogden; as well as Warren and Aleath Ogden, who passed away in infancy.

Lane’s legacy of laughter, leadership, and love will be cherished by all who knew him. May this memory bring comfort to those he leaves behind.
