Raymond Maxfield

Hanksville, Utah - Our family patriarch, Raymond Nicholas Baker Maxfield, "Cowboy", age 97, of North Edwards, California and formerly of Green River, Utah and Hanksville, Utah, died December 29, 2005 in Lancaster, California of causes incident to age. He was born November 25, 1908 in Reader, South Dakota, a son of Joseph Nicholas and Lula Mae Herrick Baker. He married Leda Mecham, May 29, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Raymond worked for the Railroad and had lived in Green River, Utah and in North Edwards, California. He is survived by his children: Rodger Dean and Jane Maxfield of Hanksville; Leon Maxfield and Sheila Maxfield, both of Green River; Marilyn and Joseph Mazak of North Edwards, California; Grant Maxfield of Price; 16 grandchildren 29 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Raymond Maxfield; three brothers and two sisters: LeRoy Dennis, Frank Dennis, Joe Baker, Evelyn Dennis and Elora Ekker. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in the Hanksville LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Thursday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Hanksville Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
