Red Norcross

August 1, 1947 — January 5, 2021

Glenwood, Utah – Ellison Lon Norcross Sr. “Red” passed away peacefully at his home in Glenwood on January 5, 2021 at the age of 73. He was born August 1, 1947 in Miami, Arizona, a son of Warren Henry and Margrett Louise Olson Norcross. He was the youngest of 4 boys and probably the most rambunctious. He kept everyone on their toes. He loved baseball, riding bikes and horses, everything a little boy should do. He was drafted into the Army in August of 1966 and served 1 1/2 years in Viet Nam. When he returned, he married Linda Sue Spencer. Together they welcomed 3 beautiful children. They later divorced. In 1982 he met the love of his life, Patty Withers, and after a short 2 weeks, they were married. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple August 11, 1984. Together, they had 2 children. Red will always be remembered by his unique style and manufacturing skills. He always had an idea whether good or bad. He always made us laugh and shake our heads, but none the less, he was ours and we all learned some of his engineering skills. Our Dad was one of a kind. He loved all of his kids unconditionally, but his greatest joy was his grandkids. They were the light in his eyes. They were what kept him going. Although he had a rough exterior he had a heart of gold. He constantly stopped to help a stranger in need. Whether it be having them sleep all throughout his house or going to his son in laws to get fixed and back on the road. There wasn't anything he wasn't willing to try to fix for someone. Red is survived by his beloved wife, Patty, of Glenwood; children: Ellison Norcross Jr. and Justus Norcross, both of Redmond; Max Norcross of Denver, Colorado; Samantha and Matthew Nielson of Richfield; son-in-law, David Blanc of Spring Glen; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Warren Henry Norcross of Globe, Arizona. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Orissa Blanc; his parents, Warren and Margrett Norcross; his parents-in-laws: Max Russel Withers and Louise Miller; two brothers, William Norcross and George Norcross; and many aunts and uncles. At his request, he will be cremated and burial will take place at a later date under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
