Reta Coy Willardson

February 21, 1938 — September 18, 2013

Gunnison, Utah - Our kind and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Reta Coy Frye Willardson, age 75, died suddenly and very unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at her home in Gunnison of a heart attack. She was born February 21, 1938 in Richfield, Utah, a daughter of Joseph Hayden "Joe" and Lillian Myrle Syddall Frye. She married Allen Ivan Willardson, April 6, 1954 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple April 20, 1978. Reta was an active member of the Gunnison 3rd Ward, serving as librarian, Visiting Teacher and also served a two year mission. Reta loved to cross stitch, do lace work, Swedish Weave, enjoyed reading, golfing, making ceramics, baking, making candy, canning and spending time with her family and her new babies. She will be greatly missed. Reta is survived by her husband, Allen, of Gunnison; children: Debbie and John Petrie of Carbonville; Tammy Skerl of Gunnison; Ivan and Dee Willardson of Mayfield; Danette Brown of Centerfield; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Ronnie and Toni Frye of West Valley City; Val and Melree Frye of Kearns; Shon and Brenda Frye of Sigurd; and Judy Stewart of Richfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Myrle Frye; a sister, Maeloy Lowney and a brother, Ted Frye. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center, where friends may call for viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
