Reta Marie Cejudo

Axtell, Utah - Reta Cejudo. A loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, friend, neighbor and so much more. She was a special legacy that left us to soon. Life without her will be difficult for she was such a light to this world and shined through the darkest of times. She was born June 17, 1969 and passed away on January 2, 2019. Her heart stopped beating as she was in the middle of being transported by life flight from Gunnison hospital to Provo and was sent to the heavens about half way through her transport. Her place of death was in the sky where the angels met her and took her home to heaven where she no longer has to suffer. She had many health struggles and knowing that she is no longer in pain and is at peace brings much comfort to her family. She is the daughter of Pink and Beth Shinsel of Axtell Utah. She is the beloved wife of Luis Francisco Cejudo Ochoa “Pancho”. She was the adoring loving mother of Mikal Beth Chavarria who is married to Jenrris Chavarria, Megan Francisca Oropeza married to Ruben Oropeza and Morgan Daniela Gonzalez married to Josue Jair Gonzalez. She was the fun and spunky grandmother to Hailey Analeah Chavarria. She was the sister of Cidney and Tracy Shinsel. Reta was a kind, humble, humorous woman. She loved entertaining people. She always knew just how to make everyone laugh and smile. She brought light to the community where she hosted large Cinco De Mayo Celebrations and helped plan parties to friends and neighbors as well. She loved to cook! Her Salsa and Tamales were out of this world. And like the taste of her food, she is unforgettable! She loved 4- wheeling while her husband Pancho rode horses along side of her. She loved doing donuts in random parking lots in her bronco and spending time with her daughters and grand-baby. She will be missed dearly. A message from her children- Mikal, Megan and Morgan: We are so conditioned to think that our lives revolve around all of these great moments, but they often catch us unaware, beautifully wrapped in what others might consider a small one. That was the case with our mom. She always knew how to make a beautifully wrapped memory in the most simplest of things and always knew how to make the world laugh. The moments us 3 girls saw our father lay his hands on our mothers hands and pray have been so humbling. We feel so close and blessed to have the parents we do. We have felt so close to them and have learned so so much from the both of them. Life has never been about having the most perfect life, but by finding love out of our imperfections and finding beauty and forgiveness in everything else in our not so perfect lives. This time has been so difficult and full of tears, but our mom always said it was ok to have these moments, but to just be sure that we find beauty in them. At this time, we are so blessed to still have one another and have an unbreakable bond that our mother helped us have. We have had so many tender mercies and during our mom’s time while being sick, we were humbled by her patience and her faith. Our mommy was clothed in strength, faith, bravery and grace. She was such a great example to us. We are so thankful for the love and support that was given to us by family, friends, our Heavenly father, nurses, strangers who gave us hugs when we broke down in the hospital halls. We truly are blessed. Our momma had the most beautiful hazel eyes and will be remembered with a smile. She has and always will be an idol to us and will be remember as one of our best friends. We are so grateful for our momma. Thinking of our mom, we feel and got to see the purest love ever known. If we had to do it all again, we would pick her to be our mother along side with our dad Pancho. She truly had the most unconditional love to offer to us. Thank you dearly from the bottom of our hearts. Until we meet again mommy- Mikey, Meggy and Morggy Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:11 A.M. in the Axtell 1st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
