Robert Black

July 18, 1936 — August 28, 2006

Redmond, Utah - Our beloved brother, uncle and friend, Robert Norman Black, age 70, died August 28, 2006 in Richfield, Utah, after a series of illnesses. He was born July 18, 1936 in Salina, Utah, a son of Douglas Hansen and Velma Jensen Black. Robert grew up in Redmond and when he was 16 years old, he left home and went to work for the railroad in Price. He had a very interesting and exciting time with the railroad. He then worked as a security guard for a uranium mine in Moab before returning to the North Sevier area. He worked most of his adult life for the turkey plant in Salina. He lived in Redmond and Elsinore. Robert was always there for his parents and siblings, to lend a helping hand. He never knew how to say no. He was a member of the LDS Church. Robert is survived by his siblings: Stanley Mead and Kathy Black of Bullhead City, Arizona; Vina Lou (Deceased) and Jimmy Hall of Elsinore; Charles Orin and Madge Black of Aurora; Roger J. and Jackie Black of Ephraim. Grave side services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Redmond Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 150 East Main Street in Salina, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
