Richfield, Utah - Robert Lee "Bob/Bobby" Martinez, age 70, passed away September 16, 2017, peacefully at his home in Richfield, surrounded by his family. He was born May 21, 1947 in Standardville, Utah, a son of Lee Cruz and Lucy (Maria De La Luz) Sisneros Martinez, where he was raised with his six siblings. He graduated from Carbon High School, Class of 1965. He then joined the US Army and served his country from 1966 to 1972. He married Karen Menzies September 26, 1970 in Helper, Utah. They had four daughters and later divorced. He then married the love of his life, Sharon Rae Stanley, January 17, 1981 in Price, Utah and they had four daughters together. Bob's world was surrounded by his grandchildren. He was always fixing bikes and playing trucks. He loved taking them fishing and riding 4-wheelers. In his spare time he loved his computer games and his favorite T.V. shows. Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by the love of his life, Sharon Martinez of Richfield; his 8 kids: Bridget and Matt Lloyd, Cindy and Kirk Anderson, all of Holladay; Brenda and Marian Martinez-Davis of Millcreek; Wendy and John Gearhart-Mercado of Magna; Serafina and Kris Ortar of West Jordan; Bobbie and Shawn Castagna, Misty and Jed Yearsley, Kayla and Cheston Allen all of Richfield ; 23 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way; brothers and sisters: Gary and Judy Martinez of California; Gloria Smith of Washington; Mike and Beverly Martinez of Price; Maryann Martinez-Sendejas of West Jordan; mother-in-law: Carol Stanley of Sigurd; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Phillip Martinez, Ronald "Ronnie" Martinez; brother-in-law: Art Smith; sons-in-law: Mike Anderson and John Kenneth Russel Gearhart; father-in-law: Kenneth Newell Stanley; and a nephew, Daryn Troy Hall. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Richfield East LDS Stake Center, 805 North 500 East in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center, Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the VFW Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
