Salina, Utah - Robert LeRoy Hardy, age 85, passed away on April 18, 2017 in his home with family by his side. He was born January 19, 1932 in Wymore, Nebraska. The son of Roy James and Margie Violet Lund Hardy. He met the love of his life Pauline Davis while stationed with the US Air Force in Tooele, Utah. They married June 24, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. She passed away on September 4, 2015 after 60 years of marriage. Bob was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served faithfully in various callings. He served four years in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. After the war he went back to school where he trained as a Diesel Mechanic, and he and Pauline soon begin raising family. In 1972 he moved his family to Salina, Utah where he worked for, then later managed and owned Midway Diesel. Bob was active in the community. He was a member of the Salina Lions Club, and he served with the Salina American Legion Post #36 for many years. He is survived by his daughters: Laura (Rocky) Williams of Salina; Cynthia (Gregory deceased) Noyes of West Jordan; Heather (Jeremy) Durrant of Payson; his sons: Robert "Bubba" Hardy of Henderson, Nevada; Gregory (Pris) Hardy of Clinton; Douglas Hardy of Las Vegas, Nevada; Blain (Gwenaley) Hardy of Ephraim; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Phyllis Bear of Wymore, Nebraska; Wilma Philippi of Central Valley, Nebraska. Bob was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife Pauline Davis Hardy; his daughter Shirlene Hardy; son-in-law Gregory Noyes; his sister Margie Williams; his parent-in-laws Oliver Paul and May Davis; his brother-in-laws: Robert Davis; Vaughen Davis; Mick Davis; Thomas Davis; sister-in-law Carolyn Davis. Graveside services with military honors provided by the Hill Air force Base Honor Guard and American Legion Members from the Layton, Utah area will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 24, 2017 in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 Redwood Road Taylorsville, Utah. Friends and family may call for viewing from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday April 23, 2017 at the Springer Turner Funeral Home 150 East Main Salina, Utah. Services are under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. The family would like to extend a special thank you to At Home Health of Salina, and the Central Utah VA Home in Payson for the loving care given to their father.
