Roe Stephenson

June 8, 1935 — July 9, 2011

Teasdale, Utah - On a beautiful summer morning, July 9, 2011, our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Angus Roe Stephenson passed away surrounded by his family. Roe was born on June 8, 1935, in Loa, Utah, to Riley and Burl Potter Stephenson. He graduated from Wayne High School and he married Allene Taylor on May 11, 1956 in the Manti LDS Temple. Roe and Allene moved to Salt Lake City where he learned the brick mason trade, and together they built a home there. But the beauty and peace of the country called strongly and they returned to their beloved Wayne County where again they worked together to build their home in Teasdale. Roe worked hard and built from the ground up his own masonry business. His craftsmanship and work ethic earned him a reputation that made his skill sought after. Because he had to “haul” all of the construction materials in his truck this evolved to where he could follow in his father’s footsteps and fulfill his lifelong dream of having his own Trucking Company. Roe was a hard working and meticulous craftsman who took pride in all he did. This was evident in everything from his work to the love and dedication that he had for his family and friends. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and faithfully served in many callings including Home Teacher, Bishop, and High Counselor. Roe is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Allene, and his four children; Pam (Randal) Clark; Susan (Gerald) Bringhurst; Michael (Kenra) Stephenson; and Burke (Lizzie) Stephenson; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Sherma Albrecht and his brother, Alvin (Ruth) Stephenson. The family would like to sincerely thank Wayne Community Health Center and Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for their professionalism and care. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Teasdale Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
