Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Ross Jay Harward, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Richfield on July 17, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Ross was born October 7, 1935 in Aurora, Utah, a son of Herald and OIive Leon Anderson Harward. He married the love of his life, Dot Shirleen Holdaway March 11, 1953 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple January 9, 1982. She passed away January 31, 2009. Ross was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings and always serving others. He spent many years as a Temple Worker in the Manti Temple and many years as a Family History Center Worker. Ross loved to fish. He tied his own flies and enjoyed being in the outdoors with his family. He enjoyed hunting, loading his own bullets, trapping, four wheeler riding, camping at Rex's Reservoir and Otter Creek. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Ross is survived by his children: Terria Lee Trezil and Jeff Harward, both of Richfield; Vicky Harward of American Fork; 4 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herald and Olive Leon Harward; his wife, Shirleen; a son, Paul J. Harward and a sister, Kathryn Jolley. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Monday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center in Salina, Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Aurora City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
