Richfield, Utah - Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Royal Eugene Mallory, age 90, of Richfield, passed away April 6, 2017 in Richfield. He was born July 4, 1926 in Madera, California, a son of Fredrick Eugene and Alice Loretta Davis Mallory. He graduated from Madera High School, Class of 1945 and then attended Cal Polly in San Luis Obispo. He served his country during World War II in the US Navy where he was a 2nd Lieutenant. Roy married Emma Fern Pierce from Fremont, Utah on November 25, 1955 in Ely, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple September 18, 1987. Roy was a mechanic engineer. He owned and operated Mallory Engineering in Salt Lake City for 8 years. In 1973, Roy and Fern moved to Richfield, where they purchased Bowery Haven in Fish Lake and ran it for the next 10 years. After retiring, they spend winter months in Mexico, exploring and helping the people there. Roy was an active member of the LDS Church, and served in several different callings while living in Mexico for 22 years. Roy was involved with the Civil Air Patrol in Salt Lake City. He enjoyed flying airplanes, fishing, hunting, prospecting and exploring Mexico. Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Fern, of Richfield; children: Steven Mallory of Salt Lake City; Joni Mallory of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren: Brady and Michelle Mallory of Las Vegas, Nevada; Cody Mallory of Provo; Kimberlee Lawrence and Nicholas Lawrence, both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a sister, Betty Lou Mallory of Fresno, California. He is preceded in death by his parents: Fredrick Eugene and Alice Davis Mallory; parents-in-law: John Washington and Pearl Ivy Balle Pierce of Fremont; and a twin brother, John S. Mallory. Grave dedication will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Fremont Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Huntsman Cancer Center in the name of Roy Mallory.
