Torrey, Utah/New York City, New York - Richard Ryan Jensen, age 47, passed away May 3, 2022 at his home in New York City. He was born January 29, 1975 in Richfield, Utah, a son of Richard Austin and Teona Nelson Jensen of Torrey, Utah. He spent his childhood in Torrey and Bicknell, Utah. He lived the typical country life: chores, changing sprinkler pipe and driving tractor. He loved camping on the Boulder Mountain where the family gathered firewood, timber and poles. Ryan loved hiking the red rocks and desert landscape that surrounded his home. Ryan graduated from Wayne High School Class of 1993. He continued his education at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He spent one year studying at the Universite de Rennes II in Rennes, France and graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Utah in 1998. Ryan was accepted into New York University, Institute of Fine Arts and received his M.A. in Art History in 2001. Ryan loved living in New York City where he enjoyed the arts. He loved the museums, Broadway, concerts and all the city had to offer. He lived his dream working as an Independent Art Historian/Consultant. His work took him all over the world; France, all the Scandinavian countries, England, Iceland, Istanbul, and Ghana, and many others. He was proficient in several languages. Ryan loved to read, play the piano, cook and travel. He was blessed with many friends all over the world. Ryan is survived by his parents, Richard and Teona Jensen, Torrey; his brother Brandon (Marie) Jensen, Fayette; his sister Teona Ann Jensen, West Jordan; nephew Elder Talmage Jensen, serving in Massachusetts, Boston LDS Mission; niece Laine Jensen; nephew Sawyer Jensen both of Fayette; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Talmage and Joan Jensen and Gerald and Joan Nelson. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday May 31, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the Torrey Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
