Sam Dickinson

June 28, 1942 — December 26, 2016

Richfield, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Almon J. "Sam" Dickinson, age 74, of Richfield, died December 26, 2016 of complications from heart and kidney failure. He was born June 28, 1942 in Panguitch, Utah, a son of John D. and Alma Bridges Dickinson. He graduated from Richfield High School, Class of 1960. He joined the US Army and served from September 18, 1959 to February 23, 1963. He married Diana Lee Stewart April 16, 1965 in Evanston, Wyoming. She died June 28, 1977. He married Hilda Geri Bowen, June 20, 1981 in Salina, Utah. Sam was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He will be greatly missed. Sam is survived by his loving wife, Geri, of Richfield; children: Michelle Diana Dickinson, and John Wesley Dickinson, both of Richfield; Alayna Marie Dickinson of Salt Lake City; Tracy Michelle and Joseph Piraux of LeCanto, Florida; Jason Ray and Catina Hale of Cotati, California; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Sherry Lewis, Pearl and Phil Rogers, Cliff Dickinson and Ricky Dickinson, all of Salt Lake City; Bob and Shyanne Dickinson of Richfield; Lloyd and Leslie Dickinson of Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" and Alma B. Dickinson; his fist wife, Diana Stewart Dickinson; brothers and sister: Gerald Dickinson, Roger Dickinson and Lennis Helquist. Grave side services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, Saturday morning from 11:00 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Salina American Legion Post #36 and the Utah Honor Guard will be in the Pioneer Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
