Sarah Jean King

Torrey, Utah – Sarah Jean Cook King, age 85, passed away August 9, 2020 at her home in Torrey. She was born February 16, 1935 in Sacramento, California, a daughter of William M. and Enid Gibbons Cook. She graduated from High School in Logan, Utah, Class of 1951. She then went to Utah State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in teaching. Sarah married Dale Pace King June 26, 1955 in Sacramento, California. He preceded her in death February 2, 2005. After Dale retired, they moved to Torrey in December of 1987. She volunteered to help with various projects in Wayne County. She loved nature and loved living in Wayne County. Sarah and Dale enjoyed every minute of retired life together. She loved fishing, bird watching, rock hounding, golf, tennis, all card games, crafts and she loved to travel. She saw the world with her husband. Sarah collected many objects of art during her travels. She loved her sisters and wearing crazy hats that they adorned together. Most of all, Sarah loved her family and her friends. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Dale Jaworski of Lyman; 2 grandchildren: Pace L. Jaworski of El Paso, Texas and Shara J. Jaworski of Denver, Colorado; siblings: Frank Cook of Giridley, California; Nathalie Cook Keister of Sacramento, California and Phyllis Cook of Bonanza, Oregon. A memorial reception will be held at 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 8, 2021 in the Teasdale Culture Center, 73 Main Street, Teasdale, Utah. Services under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Homes of Richfield and Salina, Utah. In leu of flowers the family would like to request donation be made to the Teasdale Historical Society in order to preserve the Teasdale Culture Center.
