Scott R. Draper

June 4, 1952 — September 20, 2024

Gunnison, Utah – Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Scott Rady Draper, age 72, passed away September 20, 2024, in Centerfield. He was born June 4, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Max Radie and Shirlie Johansen Draper. He grew up in Moroni, along with his two sisters, riding bikes with his friends and playing baseball. He graduated from North Sanpete High School, Class of 1970.

Scott married the love of his life, Wilma DeAnn Miner December 13, 1974, in Fairview. To this union were born four children, Travis, Kelly, Cory and Mandy. They made their home and raised their children in Moroni.

Scott worked as a refrigeration mechanic at the Turkey Plant in Moroni for 47 years. After he retired, they moved to the Gunnison Valley in 2017.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and cooking for his family. He is one of the biggest Ute fans you’d ever meet. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Scott loved animals and had several favorite family pets, especially his beloved Roscoe. He idolized his grandkids, appreciating each for their own unique abilities and enjoyed teasing them, and anyone else he could put one over on.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, DeAnn Draper of Gunnison; his children: Cory and Shawntell Draper of Axtell; Mandy and Wes Cook of Lakenheath, England; his grandchildren: Max Draper, and Mace Draper, both of Axtell; Cash Cook, and Sophia Cook both of Lakenheath, England; and Connor Olsen of West Jordan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Max A. and Shirlie J. Draper; children, Travis R. Draper and Kelly D. Olsen; and his sisters, Shari D. Black and Judith A. Rodriquez.
