Richfield, Utah - Sharon Naomi Brewer Syddall slipped from her family’s arms August 30, 2023, knowing with a surety that she was the most loved Mother in this world. She was 84 years old.
Sharon was born in Salt Lake City to Harold Aaron and Virginia Ella Eite Brewer on July 24, 1939. A day that would be celebrated with parades and fireworks for the rest of her life. Her parents could never convince her that the parade wasn’t being held in her honor. She loved to tell that story and still loved her birthdays.
She was raised in Salt Lake City with her best friend and Sister Barbara. They shared an extraordinarily happy childhood with wonderful memories of sneaking into their father’s grocery store at after closing to drink RC Cola, going to the movies every weekend, sleepovers at her Grandmother Eites and raiding her grandfather’s candy truck. Her happy childhood left her with a happy personality that she would have all her life.
Her family moved to Richfield to build and operate the Arctic Circle. She protested the move from the City she loved but in time she learned to love Richfield. She worked hard alongside her father for many years making the best fish and chips and tarter sauce in the County.
It would be in Richfield that she would meet and marry the love of her life, Kay Syddall. Together they raised 3 devoted children of whom they were so proud. Life got even better for them with the addition of 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren whom they referred to as the cherry on top. They were the best grandparents a kid could hope for.
Sharon loved to work and be with people. In her later years she worked at Larsen’s Ace Hardware for many years and loved every day there. People still look for her and tell her family how much they loved seeing her and the help she always gave. She was saddened to leave and missed the people there.
Sharon loved going to the Temple and went weekly until her health wouldn’t allow. Her testimony never waivered even when her hardships seemed too hard to bear.
To say Sharon will be missed is a huge understatement. Even with declining health, she was the heart and soul of her family. Her mind was as sharp and witty as ever. Her last words just might have been as sassy as ever.
