Sheldon A. Bjerregaard

Mayfield, Utah - Sheldon Arthur Bjerregaard, age 92, passed away September 27, 2006 at his home in Mayfield, Utah. He was born September 20, 1914 in Christianburg, Utah, a son of Arthur James and Katie Hendrickson Bjerregaard. He married Edna Frandsen, November 29, 1937 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple March 27, 1952. A life-long resident of Mayfield, Utah, he was involved in farming and raising livestock most of his life. Sheldon was an active man who loved the simple pleasures of life - family, friends and doing things for others. He was well-informed as a result of a lifetime of reading and took great pride in the educational accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He also prided himself in growing, tending and beautifying his surroundings and, as a hobby in later years, built bird houses to give to family and friends. Sheldon is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Edna, and their children: Douglas F. and Mary Ann, Richard S. and Sharon, Marsha and Clair Nielson, and Clair F.; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister: Wanda Peterson and sister-in-law: Marie Bjerregaard. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Aden and sister, Linda. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mayfield LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Sunday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
